Glasses

We make sure you glasses fit and feel right.Prescription eyeglasses are an effective way to correct your vision problems.

The wide range of correction types and lens coatings available allow us to customize your glasses prescription for your needs and lifestyle.

Your eyeglasses can be a fashion accessory, too! You can choose from a variety of frame materials, shapes, styles, and colors to best complement your appearance.

Information about your eyeglasses:

Vision Correction

  • Single vision glasses correct your vision for nearsightedness (myopia) or farsightedness (hyperopia).

You can also use single vision reading glasses to correct age-related inability to focus on close objects (presbyopia) if you don't already use glasses to correct for another vision problem.

  • Multifocal glasses use one set of lenses to help you focus at different distances. Bifocals have 2 focus points, usually one for distance and one for close objects. Trifocals have 3 focus points, usually distance, close by, and an intermediate distance.

Multifocals may have clearly defined sections for each vision requirement. Or you may opt for progressive or no-line lenses, with smooth transitions between the focus points in the lenses.

You may need a short adaptation period to get used to new bifocal or trifocal glasses. You may need to practice looking through the different areas of your glasses for near and far vision.

Lens Coatings

Your new glasses can be ordered with special lens coatings to add:

  • scratch-resistance
  • Ultraviolet protection
  • anti-reflective properties
  • color

We have just the style of frame you are looking for Choosing Frames

The wide selection of eyeglass frames available ensures that you will find a flattering style that you like. Salazar Eyecare offers designer frames by Gucci, Donna Karen, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Oakley, Nike, Nautica, and Flexon.

It's important to remember, though, that your glasses are more than a fashion statement!

When choosing your new glasses, make sure the frames:

  • fit properly
  • are durable enough to fit your lifestyle
  • are suitable for your prescription

Taking Care of Your Glasses

Take care of your vision and prolong the life of your glasses:

  • clean the lenses twice a day with cleaner made for eyeglasses or with soap and warm water
  • don't use silicone tissues on plastic lenses
  • don't wipe plastic lenses when dry
  • wash frames occasionally with soap and warm water
  • keep glasses in their case when not wearing them
  • never set your glasses down on the lenses
  • use both hands to put your glasses on and take them off
  • don't let other people wear your glasses
  • have the fit adjusted periodically
  • schedule an eye exam if you have trouble seeing with your glasses
