Kids' Eye Care
Children
should have their first eye exam at about 6 months of age. This ensures
the early detection and treatment of any vision or eye health
problems.
Your child's eyes should be examined again at age 3 and just before he
or she starts school. Regular eye exams every 2 years will catch vision
problems and help keep your child's eyes healthy.
Schedule an appointment right away if your child shows any of these
symptoms of a vision problem:
- squinting
- holding books close to the face
- lowering the face close to his or her work when writing
or drawing
- tilting the head to use only one eye or closing one eye
- excessive blinking
- complaining that things look blurry
- burning or itchy eyes
- avoidance of reading, coloring, puzzles
- difficulty in identifying basic shapes
- difficulty with video games, catching a ball, copying from
a blackboard
- sitting close to the TV
- chronic headaches, dizziness or nausea
At Salazar Eyecare, your family's vision is our top
priority!
